Christian Yelich and JT Realmuto Ate Chipotle 142 Days in a Row in the Minors

Earlier today Christian Yelich tweeted out a picture of his Chipotle Card. If you have a Chipotle Card you have made it. Oh cool you won MVP in the Majors? Congrats, let me see that Chipotle Card though. People used to dream of having a black card. Now it’s the personalized, custom made, hand crafted, responsibly raised, sustainably grown, burrito card that people strive for. I cant even imagine the power you must feel walking into any Chipotle from sea to shining sea, on any given day and just being able to swipe that bad boy. You think it covers guac?

The real story here, as Rob Murray reported, is that when Yelich and former teammate JT Realmuto were in the minors together, they ate Chipotle for 142 days straight. To put that into perspective, if they started this streak on January 1st, they would have eaten Chipotle every day until mid-May. A run that spanned 5 months. Cal has the Ironman streak, well Yeli and JT just earned themselves the IronAss streak. You need to have stalwart bowels to withstand 142 straight days of barbacoa and salsa verde. You aren’t going to get a burrito the size of a swaddled baby if you’re worried that a dump the size of swaddled baby might follow every time. Some people cant handle a loaded bowl from Chipotle over flowing with carnitas and grilled veggies so when you go on a run of 142 straight days I am taking notice.

142 straight days of Chipotle can get you this body

I love Chipotle and I personally have never ate it back to back days. Im not above eating things in consecutive days, Chipotle has just never fallen into that category for me. And that makes this streak all the more impressive. I cannot fathom eating the same thing, even something I truly enjoy, that many times in a row. But I also cannot imagine raking vs. big league hitters like these two so again, they’re built different. Coming up through the minors as young guys just grinding it out working towards the majors, they probably were the living breathing account of Eat. Sleep. Baseball. Except With Yeli and JT it was just Chipotle. Sleep. Baseball. For half a year straight.

I cant even imagine how bummed out Bour was when he learned he wasn’t part of this streak. You know Bour can manj so I am guessing he, Yelich and JT had a new streak going during their time together in Miami.

Im going to guess Yelich prefers this eating story to ones he has been involved with previously in his career.
