This match led off with breaking news as Team Ziti is now in line to face the champion of the Dozen Tournament after a controversial question mistake that led into a 10–0 run by The Uptown Balls. Commissioner Jeff D. Lowe owned up to the mistake and we move on with the tournament.

In the #8/#9 match up #8 Spittin’ Chiclets met the interesting trio of Large, Vibbs and Jake Marsh and #9 Generation XYZ. Gen XYZ put on an absolute clinic and put up an impressive 15 spot in round to take down the hockey guys. RA was the only member of Chiclets in studio and I think that put him at a slight disadvantage. There was little to no lag for the guys on screen, but there is still something different about talking through a question in person. Gen XYZ did have Large on screen but 1 fine, 2 makes it tough. Vibbs got absolutely dominated by Larges TV.

Round 1 started out with a lay up NFL question, at least for a Washington Football Team fan like myself, but both Chiclets and Gen XYZ missed. Gen XYZ answered theirs correctly and got out to an early 1–0 lead. After Biz pulls a last second Ironman out of his ass to get Chiclets a celebrity mash up point, he tries to get in Jakes head, but to no avail. Gen XYZ held serve and maintain a lead into round 3, where both teams would once again trade correct answers. This continues through round 4, with Whit absolutely ripping some Genisis inbetween. Gen XYZ has not missed on a question and Biz calls them “a rash that won’t go away.” Little did Biz know, the rash would keep getting worse.

Whits phone a friend, Bunzo, flopped on a phone a friend for college basketball but Chiclets survive as Gen XYZ misses the steal again. However, with their double in use, Jake instantly answers their CBB question correctly to extend XYZ’s lead to 6–3. Chiclets use their double on NHL to get back to within 1, but Jakes phone a friend comes through and XYZ avoids giving Chiclets a chance to steal NHL and tie things up.

The bonus round was when RA being in studio solo really showed to be a problem. 10 seconds is a quick time frame and once the 5th city came around things got a little chaotic and RA said Houston for a second time. 9–5 and the biggest lead of the match for XYZ.

Rounds 7 and 8 continue with the same theme as the first half of the match. Chiclets answer correctly, but so does Gen XYZ. With the score 11–7 going into the 9th round, Chiclets is beginning to run out of points. They miss, this time Gen XYZ steals, followed by a correct answer. Its 13–7, Gen XZY has not missed a single of their questions and Chiclets needs all of the 6 remaining points to force an OT. RA keeps them alive with a correct answer and Gen XYZ has their first miss to keep a slight glimmer of hope left for Chiclets, but they fail to steal. Generation XYZ seals a win in the 10th round.

The score would end 15–9 after a full 12 rounds. This match was not about Chiclets failing to perform, it was all about Generation XYZ coming out of the gates like a team possessed. 15 points can beat any team in this tournament and Chiclets really did not stand a chance as XYZ refused to miss any questions. There was contributions from all three members of XYZ and they look like a team that can really test #1 seed Frank and The Frankettes. Next match of the tournament is tonight as #6 Smockin takes on #11 Team Chicago.
