What a week for the Orange. After routing Miami Tuesday, the Orange came out for a Saturday afternoon bout against Virginia Tech today and ran them out of the Dome. Cuse gets a huge ranked win on the resume and avoids dropping to 2–4 in conference play.

While earlier in the week it was Buddy and Joe Girard doing the damage for the Orange, today Marek Dolezaj and Alan Griffin took the reigns. Griffin was the player of the game for Syracuse. He finished with 15pts/10reb/7blk/2stl/1ast. Pack that stat sheet young man. Flirting with a triple dub. Griffin was incredibly active all game and brought a level of energy that was infectious throughout the Orange. SU was crashing the glass and meeting the Hokies at the rim and the physicality of SU never let VT get back into the game.

Griffin may have been the player of the game for SU but Quincy Guerrier was a close second. He finished with 20 points and 9 boards and was a presence download. Syracuse didn’t rely on the 3 today and really had an incredible switch of style of play to get Cheese, Dolezaj and Griffin the ball in the paint, which was where the bread was buttered today. Also, shout out to Kadary Richmond. 13 points in 13 minutes quick quick. Really gave the Orange a nice second half boost.

This was another overall awesome performance from Syracuse to give them back to back dominate wins. Now they head down to Virginia to face the Cavaliers and have another shot at a ranked opponent, this time on the road. Remember when UVA got beat by a 16 seed? Ya me too.
