SURVIVNG BARSTOOL EP 3 REVIEW

KNOW YOUR ROLE AND SHUT YOUR MOUTH. If you thought Tommy Idol was putting on a clinic in the first two episodes, you ain’t seen nothing yet. After the first two episodes, both of which were great, the consensus on twitter from the involved with the show “Just wait. It only gets better.” Obviously when you are promoting a show you’re going to take that route, but in no way has it been lip service. After each episode I have found myself wanting the next one even more. The episodes have all been different in their own way, but they have not relented one bit in terms of entertaining they are.

The first half of this episode was too cordial for my liking so I knew something big was coming. Sure Donnie was rummaging through Tommys bag like an office rat and alliances were being formed behind peoples back, but there was very little animosity, not much controversy, just a lot of scheming amongst the contestants. Even the challenge was on the mellow side. Hard as hell im sure, but compared to bobbing for nips and consuming vile things, a memory game is most definitely a change of pace. I personally couldn’t even say the 6 things out loud in row from memory after KFC read them so shout out to Keegs for winning immunity. All of this was a PHENOMENAL set up by the producers. The way the episode was set up to get the audience to let their guard down before the tribal council was just some incredible work by Logan and the team.

If you were one that did let your guard down when the tribal council came, you were most definitely RKO’d by Tommy putting Keegs and Bri in a mental pretzel and holding onto the NAV Idol. When everyone zigs, Tommy zags. Smokes said he has been visualizing winning survivors since he was 4 (my 4 year old nephew watches cartoons and plays with match box cars) and in no way shape or form was he kidding. Every little detail of this game has been calculated by Tommy. And that’s why I don’t think this move ends Tommy when it comes down to the final two. I think Tommy knew at some point he was going to be the villain either way and he picked the spot that benefited him most to make the move. Why become the Green Goblin when you can go all in and become Thanos. Kelly and Bri opening their mouths before Tommy let go of the Idol was flat out irresponsible. TRUST??? We are talking about trust during Surviving Barstool?!?! What is you doing ladies! This was the biggest mistake any of the contestants have made so far and it could prove to be very costly.

It was tough to say goodbye to Zah. Zah just seems like an awesome dude, he wasn’t overtly conniving or backstabbing, he crushed a horrific challenge just a day before, you hated to see him get voted off. It was obvious many of the contestants didn’t enjoy writing his name down either.

The remaining 5-

Kelly Keegs- Winner of the immunity necklace but I think it was on a night the immunity necklace didn’t hold the same value. It most definitely gives her peace of mind on the night but it seemed like it was Zah or Tommy getting votes either way. Kelly may have had the NAV lounge bed but I dont know if she got much sleep.

Tommy- STILL holding the NAV Idol. A masterclass on how to play the game. He has done everything right and still has not won a challenge yet. Feits said on Surviving Surviving Barstool that Tommy told the other contestants it wasn’t worth watching any Survivor seasons before the competition started so he started playing the game as soon as he was signed up for it. The TOMMY chants are getting louder and louder.

Nick- Have I mentioned Nick is flat out fuckin hilaruous in the previous reviews? I live for Nick scenes. Although it was a TRAVESTY that KFC was wearing Nicks raybans gifted from his mother when Tommy pulled the Idol back. I cannot even imagine KFCs eyes under those shades. I could just tell from his body language he was doing everything he could to keep himself together during that moment.

Brianna- Brianna has low key been the second best player of the game so far behind Tommy. She may not seem like it, but I think that’s all part of the shtick. She is a yes to every alliance and it seems like she isn’t even on the radar for being voted off. Kind of like this episode letting the audience take their guard down, I think all the contestants have theirs down when it comes to Chickenfry.

Donnie- The Wonton Don shined this episode. Nick and Cowboy have gotten all the comedy love so far but Donnie is hysterical and he was on fire this episode. His confessionals are great and when he said Zahs f-words were a little harsh I lost it. I think the target came off Donnies back with all the hullabaloo this week, that’s big for him.

Shoutout to Riley Radobenko who does awesome instant reaction vids after the show.
