It may not have been pretty, but the Orange are back in the win column after beating Georgetown 74–69. Syracuse hands Patrick Ewings Hoyas their fifth straight loss to move to 7–2. Beating Georgetown is always extra nice, and a wins a win, so we wont get to the negative stuff just yet, but let’s just say Cuse needs to put together a full 40 minutes.

Some good stuff; Buddy and Joe shot the ball great and carried the offense tonight. They combined to score 39 of the Oranges 74 points and went 6–10 from behind the arc. They also added 12 assists, 8 for Girard and 4 for Buddy. Just an all around strong performance from the back court. Dolezaj was more involved in the offense going 4–7 from the field and 3–4 from the line and just missing a double double with 9 rebounds. The Orange only had 9 turnovers to Georgetowns 12 and also out rebounded the Hoyas on both the offensive and defensive glass, all very good categories to be on top in.

Now to the bad stuff. Dolezaj lost a tooth. Guy is such a grinder. Always battling. Goes to war every night. Love him. Cuse needs to figure things out coming out of halftime. They were up 13 coming out of the break and gave up 39 points and the Hoyas cut the lead to 5. Thats back to back games where SU has squandered a double digit lead and that is not a good trend to get into. Good teams step on the throat when they have a lead like that and Cuse is not doing that. They gotta figure out this issue. SU got the win so this could be looked at as positive too, but Guerrier once again didn’t have a great game. 12 and 9 isn’t a terrible game by any means but Quincy still hasn’t played his best ball since Cuse has returned to play.

The Orange are back at it on Tuesday as they head to Chapel Hill to face the Tarheels. In UNCs last four, they lost two and then won back to back games by 1 and then 2 points. This is a good chance for the Orange to start up a new win streak and get a nice road win. Solid performance by the boys tonight, lets keep it rolling.
